RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University softball's Paige Murphy has been named the Ohio Valley Conference adidas Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced Monday.
The Colonels played three games last week, one at the University of Kentucky and a doubleheader at Morehead State.
Murphy hit .500 on the week and recorded a 1.500 slugging percentage. The senior racked up seven runs scored, one double, three home runs and nine RBIs.
But, her most impressive performance on the week came at MSU where the Louisville, Kentucky native had a double and three home runs, including a grand slam. She now has 10 round-trippers on the season.
Murphy is hitting .446 on the year with a .526 mark in league play.
EKU plays six this week, with five at Gertrude Hood Field. It welcomes in Kentucky on Tuesday, travels to Western Kentucky on Wednesday, then closes the week with twin bills against Tennessee State and Belmont University.
