Softball To Host No. 20 Kentucky In Suicide Prevention Awareness Game

RICHMOND, Ky. –
The Eastern Kentucky University softball team is set to host the No. 20 University of Kentucky Tuesday night for a Suicide Prevention Awareness game.
 
EKU Softball seat cushions will be given away and a silent auction will take place that will include the squad's warm-up jackets. All proceeds will go to the EKU Psychology Clinic's Suicide Prevention Services.
 
First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT
 
-EKU (22-12, 5-1 OVC) went 2-1 last week, dropping a game to the No. 19 University of Kentucky but sweeping Morehead State.
 
-Paige Murphy, the reigning OVC Player of the Week, hit .500 last week with a 1.500 slugging percentage. The senior had three home runs, including a grand slam, a double and nine runs batted in against Morehead State.
 
-Murphy is leading the offensive effort for the Colonels, hitting .446 on the year with nine doubles, one triple and 10 round-trippers.
 
-Murderer's Row has doubled opponents' home runs – 44-to-22.
 
-Mollie Paulick (8-4) continues to lead the defensive effort with a 2.55 ERA on the season. The sophomore has thrown 79 strikeouts.

-Kentucky rides a four-game winning streak into tomorrow's contest, defeating EKU, Louisville and Middle Tennessee in a doubleheader last week.
 
-Bailey Vick continues to lead the Wildcats offensively, hitting .431 on the season with just one hit for extra bases.
 
-Bethany Todd (1.40) and Grace Baalman (1.95) are each tossing under a 2.00 ERA for UK.
