RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team hits the road this weekend to face Marshall on Friday in Huntington at 7 p.m. and Kentucky on Sunday in Lexington at 2 p.m.

- EKU (3-1) swept the weekend by knocking off Ball State, 1-0, on Friday and IUPUI, 3-1, on Sunday.Â

Sarah Owusu (Offensive Player of the Week),
Kacy Eckley (Defensive Player of the Week), and
Zoe Aguirre (Goalkeeper of the Week) helped the Colonels sweep the weekly OVC Soccer awards for the first time since 2010.Â
- Owusu scored three goals over the weekend against Ball State and IUPUI. She is tied for second in the conference with three goals on the year.Â
- Junior
Erin Torrence ranks second in the conference in points with seven and tied for first in the conference in assists with three.Â
- Freshman keeper Aguirre picked up her first clean sheet of her collegiate career Friday against Ball State. She ranks third in the conference in goals against on the year.Â
- Eckley never came off the field last weekend in their three games, as she logged 270 minutes of actions. She also picked up the game tying goal Tuesday against East Tennessee State.Â

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
- Marshall (0-2-1) tied with Army West Point (2-2) before falling to UT-Martin (3-1) last Friday.Â
- EKU has never beaten Marshall in a regular season matchup (0-4). The Colonels last played the Thundering Herd in 2015, and Marshall won that contest 5-1.
- Marshall is led by Farah Abu-tayeh who has two goals on the year for the Herd.Â
- Kentucky (3-1) beat Morehead State August 23
rd, 2-1, but then fell to Wisconsin August 26
th 3-1.Â
- EKU is 0-6 all-time versus Kentucky. The Colonels took on the Wildcats last year in Lexington, with Kentucky coming out on top 3-1.Â
- Yuuke Kurosaki leads the way for the Wildcats with seven points on the year, behind three goals and one assist.Â
