Rachel Woody tallied a 20 assist, 10 dig double-double to lead the Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team in a three set loss at Murray State Saturday afternoon.

EKU battled the Racers in a back-and-forth affair in set one. Late in the set, after a
Kaylin Johnson solo block and a ball handling error from Murray, the Colonels led 21-20. Rachel Giustino found an answer to spark five unanswered points from the Racers to take the set 25-21.

A kill from
Kierstin Schade in the middle of the second frame sent Eastern on a 5-1 run to take the largest lead of the match, 21-16. A Callie Anderton putaway led the Racers to rattling off six in a row, tilting the score 22-21. After a pair of errors and a
Cassie Knutson kill EKU took match point 24-23, but Murray State came firing back to take the set, 26-24.

Knutson led the offensive effort with 13 kills while
Chloe Rojas led the way defensively with 16 kills.
Clairissa Hankinson and Johnson each had four blocks.

EKU out-blocked the Racers 9-to-3.

Murray State improves to 7-9 (1-3 OVC) while Eastern moves to 3-13 (2-2 OVC).

The Colonels will be back in action October 5 at Tennessee State. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
