9/9/2018 8:22:00 AM

RICHMOND, Ky. – Former Colonel football players Tim Boyle, Jordan Berry, Noah Spence, and Matt Lengel are set to start the 2018 NFL season today.

Boyle, 6-foot-4 quarterback, who went undrafted but signed with the Packers, had an exceptional preseason where he threw for 294 yards and tossed three touchdowns.

Boyle will start third on the depth chart for the Packers, behind Aaron Rodgers and DeShone Kizer. Green Bay kicks off its 2018 campaign on Sunday night against the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field.

The 6-foot-5, 195-pound Berry will start his fourth season as the punter for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Last year the Australian native had 64 punts on the year for an average of 43.2 yards per punt. His longest punt was 62 yards. Twenty-six of his 64 punts were downed inside the 20 yard line.

The Steelers open up the season when they travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Spence, a 6-foot-2 defensive end, will begin his third season in Tampa Bay. Last year his season was cut short due to injury. In his limited amount of games he managed to rack up nine total tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble.

The Buccaneers will begin their season Sunday when they travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints.

Lengel will be on the practice squad for the Houston Texans. He signed to join the practice squad on September 2nd.
