Basketball Teams Ready For OVC Games In McBrayer Arena

RICHMOND, Ky. – The EKU basketball teams return to McBrayer Arena on Thursday for the first time since December. 

The women's game tips at Alumni Coliseum at 5 p.m.  The men's contest is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Both games will air live on ESPN+.

INSIDE THE SERIES
-  EKU leads the all-time series 31-23.
 
-  UTM won last year's meeting, 72-54.
 
-  Tennessee-Martin has won the last three meetings.
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern Kentucky lost at Belmont, 69-43, on Saturday.   
 
-  Teri Goodlett posted a career-high 14 points with four assists against the Bruins.
 
-  Catie Kaifes pitched in 10 points and seven rebounds in the contest. 
 
-  Abby Wright leads the way offensively for the Colonels, averaging a team-best 11.9 points per game.
 
-  Eastern Kentucky ranks seventh in the conference in three-point field goals made.
 
-  The Colonels are forcing six steals per game.  

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Tennessee-Martin beat Austin Peay, 74-65, on Saturday.   
 
-  The Skyhawks are led by Chelsey Perry, who averages a team-best 11.6 points per game.  
 
-  Emanya Robertson posted 17 points, five assists and three rebounds in the win against Austin Peay.
 
-  UTM ranks eighth in the country in scoring offense.
 
-  The Skyhawks rank fourth in the country in steals per game.
                          
-  UT Martin is first in the conference in turnovers forced.

WHAT TO KNOW
- Senior Nick Mayo poured in 26 points at Belmont on Saturday. Mayo currently leads the OVC and ranks 11th in the country in scoring at 23.6 points-per-game. 

- Freshman Jomaru Brown scored 17 points at Belmont on Saturday. Brown ranks fifth in the OVC, and leads all freshmen, in scoring during conference play (19.5 points-per-game). 

- Mayo enters Thursday's game 16 points shy of 2,000 for his career. 

- EKU (7-10, 0-4 OVC) ranks second in the OVC and 15th in the country in scoring offense (85.3 points-per-game). 

- EKU ranks third in the country in steals/game (10.9), fourth in turnovers forced/game (19.4) and 17th in turnover margin (+4.3). The Colonels lead the OVC in all three categories. 

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT 
- UT Martin (5-10, 0-4 OVC) lost two straight overtime games to open OVC play, and then fell to Murray State and Austin Peay at home last weekend. 

- Quintin Dove leads a balanced UTM scoring attack at 12.5 points-per-game. 

- This will be the 49th all-time meeting between EKU and UT Martin. The Colonels lead the series, 28-20. The teams split their two matchups last season, with EKU winning in Martin and UTM winning in Richmond.
