Soccer Welcomes SEMO, UT Martin to Richmond this Weekend

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team welcomes Ohio Valley Conference foes Southeast Missouri and UT Martin to Richmond this weekend.

The Colonels will host SEMO on Friday at 4 p.m. and UT Martin on Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
Both matches are scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+.
 
Senior Day will be celebrated directly after Friday's game vs. Southeast Missouri. Five seniors – Sam Eastes, Larissa Heslop, Rachele Manfre, Monica Rios and Marian Wolski – will be honored.
 
EKU (4-9, 2-3 OVC) dropped a pair of close matches to Austin Peay and Murray State last weekend – both by a score of 2-1.
 
Freshman Audrey Anderson tallied her third goal of the season, off an assist from sophomore Sarah Owusu, in the loss to Austin Peay on Friday.
 
Owusu then scored vs. Murray State on Sunday, heading in a deep service from Wolski in the first half. It was her third goal of the season.
 
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
 
SEMO comes into the weekend at 7-4 (4-1 OVC).
 
The Redhawks defeated SIUE, 2-1, last Thursday, before blanking out-of-conference opponent Southern Illinois, 2-0, on Sunday.
 
Three SEMO players – Hailey Block, Cassidi Tomsu and Megan Heisserer – have scored three goals on the season.
 
Southeast Missouri leads the all-time series with EKU, 8-3-1. The two teams have played to a 1-1 draw the past two season.s
 
UT Martin – the defending OVC regular season champion – currently sits at 4-5-4 (2-2-1 OVC). The Skyhawks will play at Morehead State on Sunday before traveling down to Richmond. UTM played only one game last weekend, losing at home to SIUE, 3-0.
 
Jill Hildreth paces the UTM offense with five goals this season.
 
UT Martin leads the all-time series with EKU, 9-6-1.
 
 
UP NEXT
 
The Colonels will split next weekend – hosting Belmont on Friday before traveling to rival Morehead State on Sunday.
