MARTIN, Tenn. – The Eastern Kentucky University volleyball fell in straight sets on Friday night against the University of Tennessee at Martin.  Â

The Colonels lost 19-25, 16-25 and 17-25.

Abby Noll paced the Colonel offense posting a match-best 14 kills on the night to go with four digs.
Jovana Bulatovic chipped in eight kills with a .357 hitting percentage. Â Â

The Skyhawks used a quick start in the opening set to take an 11-6 lead after an EKU attack error. After falling behind 17-13 in the set, Eastern cut the lead to two after back-to-back points capped off by a Noll kill. UTM pulled away though to take the opening set, 25-19.

In set two, UTM once again got off to a quick start and jumped out to an 11-6 lead after a kill by Logan Wallick. The Colonels cut it to one, 12-11, but could never get any closer and lost 25-16 in the second set. Â

In set three, Eastern took an early 7-5 lead after a kill by
Raegan Alexander. The Skyhawks answered back with a 4-0 run of their own to take a 9-7 lead after the Eastern attack error. EKU never took the lead again and UTM won the final set 25-17, to complete the sweep.

Martin was led by Wallick who had a match-best 14 kills. Gina Mackeviciute chipped in 11 kills of her own.

Eastern returns to the court tomorrow when the Colonels take on the Redhawks of Southeast Missouri. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
