RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team will close out the regular season at SIUE on Thursday night. First touch from Korte Stadium in Edwardsville is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.

EKU is playing for a spot in the OVC Tournament. The Colonels (4-11-2, 2-5-2 OVC) currently sit with Eastern Illinois and Morehead State in a three-way tie for eighth place (eight points) in the conference standings. The top eight teams advance to the OVC Tournament.
The Colonels battled Belmont and Morehead State to consecutive 0-0 draws last weekend, earning two conference points in the process.
Junior
Katie Shaffer was voted the OVC Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, while sophomore
Zoe Aguirre earned OVC Goalkeeper of the Week honors.
Shaffer and Aguirre have helped anchor an EKU defense that is currently tied for the OVC lead in goals-against average (1.37).
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
SIUE (6-5-4, 3-2-3 OVC) has gone 3-0-1 over its last four games.
Mackenzie Litzsinger ranks second in the OVC with nine goals this season.
The all-time series between the two teams is close, with SIUE leading 7-6-2. The Colonels lost to the Cougars in the regular season last year, but then advanced past them on penalty kicks in the 2018 OVC quarterfinals.
