EKU Women's Basketball Takes On In-State Rival Northern Kentucky For The First Time Since 82-83.

RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky University's women's basketball team opens up its 2019-20 season Wednesday at home when the Colonels take on in-state rival Northern Kentucky University.
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
 
FREE EKU women's basketball shirts will be given away while supplies last, there will be a poster signing after the game and a DJ will be there for the game.
 
The game will air live on ESPN+.  The live radio broadcast of the game is available in the Richmond area on Y92.5 FM, and can be heard worldwide on EKUSports.com.
 
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  NKU leads the all-time series between the two teams, 9-4.   
 
-  EKU won the last meeting between the two teams in 1983, 90-61.
 
-  The first meeting between the two teams was in 1975.
 
THE COLONELS
-  It will be head coach Samantha Williams' first game as EKU's head coach.
 
-  Eastern returns four of its top five scorers off last year's squad.  
 
-  EKU welcomes in nine newcomers to this year's team, four freshman and five transfers.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Northern Kentucky went 11-18, (10-8 Horizon) a year ago.
 
-  Camryn Whitaker is entering her fourth year as the head coach of NKU.
 
-  The Norse return their top four scorers from a year ago.  
 
-  Sophomore Taylor Clos leads the way for the Norse with her team-high 10.1 points per game.
 
- NKU welcome in three freshman to this year's team.  
 
-  Keiley Coffee returns with her team-high 8.1 rebounds per game a year ago.
