EKU Women's Basketball Hits The Road To Take On Memphis On Saturday

RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky University's women's basketball team hits the road for the first time this year to take on University of Memphis on Saturday.
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m ET.

INSIDE THE SERIES
-  Memphis leads the all-time series between the two teams, 5-0.   
 
-  The Tigers won the last meeting between the two teams in 2003, 78-65.
 
-  The first meeting between the two teams was in the 1973-74 season.
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern is 1-0 coming off a win against in-state rival Northern Kentucky, 69-62, on Wednesday.
 
-  Nine players recorded at least six points on the night for the Colonels.  
 
-  EKU hit 11 threes against NKU with every player that scored at least hitting one.
 
-  Shay Solomon led the way for the Colonels posting 12 points, four rebounds, five assists and three steals.
 
-  Newcomer I'Liyah Green wasted no time posting her first double-digit rebound game of her career, finishing with 10 rebounds and seven points.
 
-  Freshman Anysa Jordan was big off the bench for Eastern posting eight points and seven rebounds in only 13 minutes.
 
 
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Memphis is 1-0 after defeating Alcorn State on opening night 57-51.
 
-  Seven different players recorded points for the Tigers in their opening night win.
 
-  Memphis had three players score double-digit points.  
 
-  Lanetta Williams just missed her first double-double of the year with 11 points and nine rebounds.
 
-  The Tigers out-rebounded the Braves on Tuesday 45-35.
 
-  Memphis had 13 steals in the win against Alcorn State.

Eastern Kentucky is off for a week before it hits the road for Indianapolis next Sunday to take on Butler University. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
