RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team travels to Chattanooga, Tennessee for a three game series against the Mocs Sunday and Monday.
 
The Colonels were originally scheduled to play in the Frost Classic hosted by Chattanooga, but due to severe weather in the area the tournament was cancelled and the two teams will play three games starting on Sunday.
 
First pitch is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, with game two starting 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. EKU wraps up its trip Monday with first pitch at 12 p.m.

-The two teams have only met five times prior to the three game series.
 
-Chattanooga leads the all-time series 3-2.
 
-The last meeting between the two teams was in 2013. Chattanooga won that contest 4-3.
 
What EKU Brings:
-EKU comes into the weekend at 3-5, after a splitting a pair of contest at the Battle at the Beach.
 
-Zoe Mihalicz became the 14th player in NCAA D1 history to hit two grand slams in the same game when she did so against Presbyterian College on Friday.
 
-Mihalicz leads the way offensively for the Colonels, hitting a team-best .414 with three home runs and 11 RBIs.
 
-Senior Hannah Clark was on a tear last weekend, hitting a scorching .538 with three home runs and seven RBIs.
 
-Samantha Reynoso picked up her team leading second win on the year, in a complete game shutout against Towson University. She tossed seven innings while striking out a game-high five batters.   
 
-Eastern ranks 11th in the county in home runs per game.
 
Scouting the Opponent:
-Chattanooga comes into the contest at 8-1 on the year.
 
-UTC went 3-1 last weekend at the Chattanooga Challenge, with its loan loss coming against Kennesaw State.
 
-The Mocs are led offensively by Amanda Beltran, hitting a team-high .500 with three home runs and 12 RBIs.
 
-Chattanooga is led in the circle by a pair of arms in Allison Swinford and Mariah Ramirez. Swinford leads the team with a 0.00 ERA while posting a 2-0 record. Ramirez is 3-0 on the year with a 3-0 record.
 
EKU returns to the field next weekend at Alabama State, when they play in the ASU invitational. The Colonels first game will be Friday at 2 p.m. against Southeastern Louisiana.
