Final Regular Season Road Game Awaits Basketball Teams At Jacksonville State Saturday

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The men's and women's basketball teams will play their final regular season road games on Saturday at Jacksonville State.

The women's game will begin at 3 p.m. ET.  The men's contest is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. ET.  Both games will air live on ESPN+.

INSIDE THE SERIES
-  EKU leads the all-time series 19-14.
 
-  Jacksonville State earned a 53-44 win in the first meeting between the two teams.
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern Kentucky lost at Tennessee Tech, 77-57, on Thursday.   
 
-  Abby Wright and Teri Goodlett scored 12 points each.
 
-  Shay Solomon had eight points, four rebounds and two assists.    
 
-  Abby Wright leads the way offensively for the Colonels, averaging a team-best 11.7 points per game.
 
-  Solomon is the team's-top rebounder at 6.3 boards per game.
 
-  The Colonels are forcing 6.3 steals a game.  

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Jacksonville State beat Morehead State, 68-57, at home on Thursday.    
 
-  The Gamecocks are led by Destiney Elliott, who averages a team-best 11.3 points per game.
 
-  Rayven Pearson contributes 10 points and 10 rebounds per game.  
 
-  Yamia Johnson led the Gamecocks with 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting against Morehead State.
 
-  Rayven Peaerson recorded a double-double on Thursday with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
 
-  JSU allows just 58 points per game.

WHAT TO KNOW
- Senior Nick Mayo moved past Carl Greenfield to No. 7 on EKU's all-time rebounds list on Thursday at Tennessee Tech (804). He enters Saturday's game nine shy of moving past Eddie "The Machine" Bodkin to No. 6 on the list. 

- Freshman Tre King recorded his second career double-double in the win over Tennessee Tech, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 boards. The Colonels are now 3-0 in games when King grabs double-digit rebounds. 

- Thursday's win was EKU's first this season in which it scored less than 70 points. 

- Freshman Jomaru Brown has attempted 41 free throws in EKU's last four games. He has converted 33 of those attempts. 

- EKU ranks second in the country in steals-per-game (10.6) and turnovers forced (18.9). The Colonels also rank 7th in the country in turnover margin (+4.1) and 18th in scoring offense (82.2). 

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Jacksonville State (20-8, 12-3 OVC) currently sits in second place in the OVC. The Gamecocks have won four straight games. 

- Jason Burnell averages 16.0 points and 9.4 rebounds-per-game for JSU. 

- This will be the 32nd all-time meeting between EKU and Jacksonville State. The Colonels lead the series, 21-10, and defeated the Gamecocks, 88-70, on January 24 in Berea.
