Â
"Anytime you get a sweep in conference play it's really, really important," Eastern Kentucky Head Coach
Edwin Thompson said. Â "I thought we did a great job in all three phases this weekend. Â We pitched well, we played good defense and obviously offensively we did what we need to do. Â Today was a game where they came out aggressively and I knew they would, but we had some great moments. Â
Logan Thomason had two, 2-out RBIs that I thought were really big. The back end of our bullpen,
Darren Williams and
Aaron Ochsenbein, had 10 strikeouts over five innings, which is what we needed as we took the lead. We look forward to Western and hope to continue to play good baseball."
Â
The Colonels will host Western Kentucky on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
