RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team starts its seven-game home stand against in-state rival Morehead State University on Wednesday.
 
The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but with wet weather in the area over the weekend the game is being pushed to Wednesday.
 
Wednesday is the "It's On Us" game.  Come out early to the game and take the pledge to intervene, and create a campus climate where sexual assault/violence is not acceptable and survivors are supported.
 
First pitch against Morehead State will be at 3 p.m. with game two starting approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. The games will air live on ESPN+.
 
Inside the Series:                                                                                                                   
-Eastern Kentucky leads the all-time series between the two teams, 50-25.
 
-EKU won all three contests last year between the two teams.  
 
What EKU Brings:
-EKU comes into the contest at 19-15 (6-4 OVC) after splitting a pair of contests against Tennessee State over the weekend.
 
-Hannah Clark paces the offense with a batting average of .377, 10 doubles, nine home runs and 38 RBIs.
 
-Clark ranks 25th in the country in runs batted in per game.
 
-Sammi Miller hit her first home run of the year against Tennessee State on Saturday in the 2-0 win. 
 
-Mollie Paulick ranks third in the country in saves.  
 
-Eastern ranks 42nd in the country in home runs per game. 
 
 
Scouting the Opponent:
-Morehead State comes into the weekend at 2-27 (0-8 OVC) and having lost its last 13 games.    
 
-The Eagles are led at the plate by Kalle Coleman with a team-best .283 batting average, one double, two triples, one home run and five RBIs.   
 
-Lakyn Largent leads the way in the circle for Morehead State with 60 and one-third innings pitched on the year.
 
-MSU ranks sixth in the conference in stolen bases per game.   
 
-Coleman went 2-for-3 with two runs in their game against Belmont.
 
Eastern continues its home stand this weekend when the team takes on SIU Edwardsville on Friday. First pitch is at 4 p.m. with game two following approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
