Soccer to Host Kentucky for First Time Ever on Thursday

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team will host the University of Kentucky for the first time ever on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
 
GAMEDAY INFORMATION
 
The game will stream live on ESPN+.
 
FREE 'EKU Soccer' t-shirts will be given out to fans.
 
There is limited parking available at EKU Soccer Field. Overflow parking will be at Alumni Coliseum (no vehicles will be ticketed during the game). A shuttle will run between Alumni Coliseum and EKU Soccer Field, continuously, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
 
 
WHAT TO KNOW
 
EKU (1-5) fell to Northern Kentucky, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon.
 
Junior Kylie Thompson scored her team-leading third goal of the season in the defeat. The Danville native's three goals are currently tied for third in the OVC.
 
Junior Claire Hicks recorded her first-career assist on the goal.
 
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
 
Kentucky (4-0-2) has yet to lose this season, and the Wildcats arrive in Richmond having won four straight.
 
UK shut out Miami (Ohio), 3-0, on Sunday in Lexington.
 
Jordyn Rhodes and Hannah Richardson have both scored four goals on the season to lead the Wildcats.
 
EKU is 1-6 all-time against Kentucky. The Colonels' first-ever win over the Wildcats came last September in Lexington. Thompson scored the decisive goal in the 1-0 victory.
 
 
UP NEXT
 
The Colonels close out the non-conference schedule by traveling to play Akron on Sunday, September 15, at 1:00 p.m.
