RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team will open Ohio Valley Conference play on the road this weekend, facing Jacksonville State on Friday night at 8 p.m. and Tennessee Tech on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Kylie Thompson scored off a pass from senior
Monica Rios with 30 seconds left in double overtime to lift the Colonels past the Zips, 2-1.
It was Thompson's team-leading fourth goal of the season, and her second game-winner. Redshirt sophomore
Sarah Owusu also scored her first goal of the season in the victory.
EKU ranks second in the OVC in goals-against-average (1.49).
The Colonels also rank second in the OVC in shots (103).
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Jacksonville State enters conference play with a record of 3-5. The Gamecocks are coming off consecutive 3-0 losses to Alabama and Mercer.
Cynthia Bagozzi and Emma Meadows have both scored three goals for JSU this season.
EKU has more wins over Jacksonville State than any other opponent. The Colonels are 10-3-1 all-time against the Gamecocks, including four straight wins dating back to the 2015 season.
Tennessee Tech wrapped up non-conference play with a record of 2-4-2. The Golden Eagles will host Morehead State on Friday night before welcoming the Colonels on Sunday.

Eastern also leads the all-time series with Tennessee Tech, 9-5-1.
