INDIANAPOLIS – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team was edged on the road by IUPUI, 1-0, on Thursday night at Carroll Stadium.

IUPUI (3-1-1) scored the decisive goal in the 31
st minute when Renae Blevins launched a free kick into the bottom left corner of the net.

EKU (1-4) had chances to level, as the Colonels outshot the Jaguars, 12-10, on the evening; however, the IUPUI defense held on for the clean sheet.
"IUPUI wanted the game more than we did, Plain and simple," head coach
Matt Cosinuke said. "We didn't play to our identity tonight and that's unacceptable."

"We have to get back up, dust ourselves off and get ready for NKU," Cosinuke added.

EKU returns to action on Sunday when the Colonels host in-state rival Northern Kentucky at 1 p.m.
