EKU Basketball Wraps Up Four-Game Homestand vs. SIUE On Saturday

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's and women's basketball teams will wrap up their four-game Ohio Valley Conference homestand by hosting SIUE on Saturday at McBrayer Arena.

The women's game tips at 1:30 p.m. ET, followed by the men's game at 4 p.m. ET.

Both games will stream live on ESPN+.

INSIDE THE SERIES
- SIUE leads the all-time series between the two teams, 9-4.
 
- The Cougars won last year's meeting, 74-55, in Edwardsville.
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern is 6-8 (0-3 OVC) after falling to Eastern Illinois, 83-63, on Thursday.
 
-  Qay Stanton led the way posting a team-high 16 points, three rebounds and four assists.  
 
-  I'Liyah Green posted her third double-double of the year with 10 points and 15 rebounds.   
 
-  Samari Mowbray chipped in 13 points and six rebounds.
 
-  Stanton ranks second in conference play in steals.
 
-  The Colonels rank third in OVC play in field goal percentage defense.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  SIU Edwardsville comes into the contest at 3-11 (1-2 OVC), after falling on the road at Morehead State, 75-69, on Thursday.
 
-  Allie Troeckler led the way scoring a team-high 19 points for the Cougars.  
 
-  Kelsie Williams and Mikala Hall each chipped in 11 points off the bench for Edwardsville.
 
-  SIUE ranks third in the OVC in field goal percentage.    
 
-  Troeckler ranks second in OVC play in field goal percentage.

WHAT TO KNOW
 
Sophomore Jomaru Brown came off the bench to finish with a game-high 24 points in EKU's (5-11, 2-1 OVC) win over Eastern Illinois on Thursday.
 
Senior Ty Taylor connected on four free throws in the final minute to seal the win over EIU. Taylor was 7-of-9 from the line for the game and he now ranks fourth in the OVC in free throw percentage (84.2%).
 
Senior Lachlan Anderson came off the bench to score 13 points and grab six rebounds on Thursday, including a season-high three offensive boards. Anderson was 3-of-3 from the field and he currently ranks fourth in the OVC in three-point field goal percentage (45.5%).
 
Thursday's win over EIU:
- snapped a five-game losing skid to the Panthers.
- was EKU's first this season in which the Colonels trailed with five minutes to play in the game.
- was EKU's first game this season - win or loss - decided by three points or less.
 
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
 
SIUE (4-12, 1-2 OVC) opened conference play with a win at Belmont, but has since fallen to Tennessee State and Morehead State.
 
Zeke Moore paces the Cougars at 13.3 points-per-game.
 
This is the 12th all-time meeting between EKU and SIUE. The Cougars lead the series, 6-5, and have won two straight over the Colonels.
