Inside EKUSports - Episode 23, Season 4

4/8/2020 8:08:00 PM

Meet EKU football's new coordinators on this episode of Inside EKUSports. Defensive coordinator Jake Johnson and offensive coordinator Andy Richman are joined by sophomore soccer goalkeeper Zoe Aguirre. Johnson, a Colonel alum and former assistant coach, is excited to be back "home." He tells fans about how the program is adapting to missing spring football and the sales pitch it took from head coach Walt Wells to get Jake back in maroon & white. Richman, who once served on the coaching staff for Roy Kidd, talks about what he learned from the Hall of Famer. His offensive players are going over the playbook again and again, and will be sharp mentally when practice resumes. Aguirre was picked, for the second time, to play in the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup as a member of the Mexican National Team. She tells fans about what her and her EKU teammates are doing now to prepare for the season, and how she has juggled school work and playing for two soccer teams.

The show is entirely produced by the EKU Communications and Brand Management staff and members of the EKU Athletics department.  Under normal circumstances, the show is recorded each week in the Perkins Building studio. Each episode can be seen at EKUsports.com and www.facebook.com/ekucolonels.

In the spring of 2017, Inside EKUSports was awarded the Ohio Valley Conference Digital Network Program of Excellence Award for Ancillary Programming.
