EKU Soccer Hits The Road For A Pair Of Matches Against Central Arkansas And Jacksonville State

RICHMOND, Ky. –
The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team hits the road to take on Central Arkansas and Jacksonville State this weekend.  
 
The Colonels take on Central Arkansas in a match between the top two teams in the west division on Thursday night at 8 p.m. The match against Jacksonville State is scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m.

 WHAT TO KNOW
 
EKU enters the week 7-7 (3-3 ASUN) after sweeping a pair of matches against North Alabama and Lipscomb over the weekend.
 
Freshman Gretta Gunn scored one goal and had two assists last week in the two wins.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Sabrina Hinz pitched her second shutout of the season in the win over North Alabama. Hinz posted a season-best eight saves against Lipscomb.
 
Audrey Anderson leads the team with four goals and eight points on the year.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
 
Central Arkansas comes into the week at 7-7 (4-2 ASUN) after sweeping a pair of matches against Jacksonville State and North Alabama last week.
 
UCA is lead offensively by Emma Hawkins who has a team best 11 goals and six assists on the season. Hawkins 11 goals and six assists lead the ASUN.
 
Keyla Perez is the top goalkeeper for Central Arkansas. Perez has a 7-3 record on the year with 42 saves.
 
Jacksonville State comes in at 6-7-2 (2-3-1 ASUN) and falling to Central Arkansas and tying with Bellarmine last weekend.
 
The Gamecocks are led offensively by Cephana Deane who has a team-best five goals on the season.
 
Morgan Lerch leads the way as a goalkeeper for Jacksonville State. Lerch has 71 saves on the season which ranks second in the ASUN.

Eastern Kentucky wraps up the regular season at home next Saturday against in-state rival Bellarmine. The match starts at 1 p.m.
