RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky University's women's basketball team hits the road for the first time this season to take on in-state rival Northern Kentucky on Sunday.
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.

INSIDE THE SERIES
- This is the 15th all-time meeting between the two teams.
 
- Northern Kentucky leads the all-time series 9-5.  
 
- The Colonels have won the last two meeting between the two teams.
 
THE COLONELS
-  The Colonels opened the season with a 74-51 win over Transylvania in their season opener on Thursday night.
 
-  Ariel Kirkwood made an instant impact in her first game as a Colonel. Kirkwood scored eight points and finished with 14 rebounds, two steals, and three blocks in her debut.
 
-  Freshman Kayra Freeman was perfect from the field in her first collegiate game. Freeman went 4-for-4 from the field and 3-for-3 from the free throw line to post a team-best 11 points off the bench.   
 
-  Fellow freshman Kalissa Lacy chipped in 10 points, knocking down two three-pointers off the bench in her first collegiate game.
 
-  EKU held Transylvania without a field goal in the fourth quarter of the win.  
 
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Northern Kentucky opened the season with a loss to Kent State, 80-73, on Wednesday night at BB&T Arena.
 
-  NKU was led by Lindsey Duvall who posted a game-high 27 points on the contest. Duvall was 9-for-17 from the field and 4-for-7 from the three-point line.   
 
-  Grayson Rose and Ivy Turner each chipped in double-digit points in the contest against Kent State.   
-  The Norse shot 46 percent from the three-point line in the game.

Eastern Kentucky continues its road swing on Wednesday night when the Colonels travel to Evansville to take on the Aces at 7 p.m. ET. The game will air on ESPN3.
