OXFORD, Ohio – Eastern Kentucky University's women's basketball team fell on the road at Miami (OH), 80-62, on Sunday afternoon in Oxford.

Jayla Johnson led the way for the Colonels with 12 points and five rebounds.
Bridgid Fox had 11 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
Brie Crittendon had 10 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals off the bench.

Miami (4-3) opened the game on a 15-2 run in the first six minutes in the game and never looked back.

The Colonels chipped into the RedHawks lead with Johnson scoring the first 10 points of the game for EKU to make it 18-10 with 2:50 remaining in the first quarter. Miami answered back with an 8-2 run to take a 26-12 lead after a quarter.

Eastern Kentucky (3-5) cut the RedHawk lead to 10 three times in the second quarter but could never get it to single digits and went into the half trailing, 39-27.
