Men's Basketball Hosts Midway On Wednesday

RICHMOND, Ky. – 
Eastern Kentucky will play host to Midway on Wednesday at McBrayer Arena.
 
The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will air live on ESPN+.  The live radio broadcast of the game is available in the Richmond area on WCYO 100.7 FM, and can be heard worldwide on EKUSports.com.
 
EKU is partnering with Toys for Tots and will be accepting new toys for donation to children in need at all home games through Dec. 18.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  The Colonels are 1-0 all-time against Midway University.  The lone meeting between the two teams came on Nov. 13, 2018.  EKU won 107-52. 
 
-  Lachlan Anderson came off the bench and exploded for 22 points and 14 rebounds.
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern Kentucky is 5-6 this season after falling to Marshall, 80-69, at home on Saturday.
 
-  EKU's last two opponents have combined for 40 turnovers.  No. 15 USC had 18 and Marshall had 22.
 
-  Jomaru Brown scored a season-high 23 points on 10-of-20 shooting from the field against Marshall.  He also tied his career-high with six steals, had three rebounds and one assist.
 
-  Four Colonels rank in the top-10 in the ASUN in steals.  Brown (2.11) leads the conference, Cooper Robb (1.64) is seventh, Michael Moreno (1.55) is ninth and Braxton Beverly (1.50) is 10th.
 
-  The Colonels lead the ASUN and are 18th in the nation in steals (10.09/game).
 
-  Jannson Williams is second in the ASUN in blocks (2.20/game), fourth in rebounding (6.20/game) and 12th in scoring (12.20/game).
 
-  Devontae Blanton is third in the ASUN Conference in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.87.  He has 43 assists and 15 turnovers this season.  Blanton is seventh in the ASUN Conference with 3.91 assists per game.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Midway is 6-4 this season and 1-3 in the River States Conference.  The Eagles have scored 80 or more points five times this season, including beating Greenville 157-135 on Nov. 26.   
 
-  As a team, Midway is averaging 87 points per game and hitting 52 percent of its shots from the field.  However, the Eagles have made only 29 percent from 3-point range.
 
-  Midway opponents are averaging 82 points and shooting 45 percent from the field.
 
-  Midway is averaging 9.2 steals per game and forcing 14.9 turnovers per contest.
 
-  Donnie Miller leads the team with 22.2 points per game.  The 6-foot-3 sophomore guard is also tied for the team lead with 3.2 assists per game.  He has made 47 percent of his shots from the field.
 
-  Raekwon Evans is contributing 17.8 points and a team-best 8.3 rebounds per game.  The 6-foot-4 senior forward has connected on 57 percent of his shots from the field.
