EKU Women's Basketball Wraps Up Non-Conference Play At Home On Friday Against Cumberlands

RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky University's women's basketball team wraps up the non-conference portion of its schedule on Friday at home against the University of the Cumberlands.
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.

INSIDE THE SERIES
- This is the first ever meeting between the two teams.
 
THE COLONELS
-  The Colonels (6-6) knocked off Appalachian State, 89-84, in double overtime on Dec. 21 in Boone, North Carolina.
 
-  Alice Recanati led the way for the Colonels with a season-best 21 points, six steals, and four assists against the Mountaineers.  
 
-  Brie Crittendon continues to impress in her freshman campaign, posting a career-best 15 points, six rebounds, four steals, and three assists in the win over App State. Crittendon was named ASUN Freshman of the Week on Monday for her performance.   
 
-  Recanati ranks first in the conference in steals and steals per game. Recanati ranks 27th in the country in steals on the season.
 
-  The Colonels rank 25th in the country in steals per game and 19th in overall steals.
 
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
-  Cumberlands comes into the contest at 9-5 (3-3 Mid South) after knocking off Shawnee State, 77-59, on Dec. 18 in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
 
-  The Patriots are led offensively by Destinay Haworth who is averaging a team-best 14.7 points per game on the season.
 
-  UC has three players averaging double figures on the year.
 
-  Cumberlands is shooting 42 percent from the field as a team.

Eastern Kentucky opens up ASUN play next Wednesday night at home against Central Arkansas. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
