Colonels Go on the Road to Face Jacksonville State on Tuesday Night

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's basketball team will play at Jacksonville State on Tuesday night. Tip from Pete Mathews Coliseum is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
 
The game will air live on ESPN+. The radio broadcast of the game can be heard locally at 100.7 FM and worldwide at EKUSports.com.
 
 
WHAT TO KNOW
 
It will be EKU's (13-2, 7-1 OVC) first game since January 21 – a 113-73 win over UT Martin at McBrayer Arena.
 
EKU is off to its best start since the 1946-47 season and its best conference start since the 1964-65 season. The Colonels have won eight consecutive games.
 
The Colonels tied the OVC record with 20 three-pointers in the win over UT Martin.
 
EKU shot 60 percent (42-of-70) from the field in the win over UTM – that is the Colonels' highest field goal percentage under head coach A.W. Hamilton.

Freshman Wendell Green Jr. scored a game-high 25 points in the victory over UTM and was voted the OVC Freshman of the Week for the third time last Monday.
 
Sophomore Michael Moreno poured in 23 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the field and 5-of-6 shooting from deep versus the Skyhawks.
 
Freshman Devontae Blanton came off the bench to finish with a career-high 19 points against UTM.
 
EKU now ranks seventh in the country in scoring at 84.2 points-per-game.
 
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
 
Jacksonville State (10-6, 6-4 OVC) fell at home to Morehead State, 85-66, last Saturday.
 
Darian Adams is averaging 14.7 points-per-game for the Gamecocks.
 
This is the 36th meeting between EKU and Jacksonville State. The Colonels lead the series, 23-12, and defeated the Gamecocks, 69-66, in overtime on January 7 in Richmond.
 
 
UP NEXT
 
EKU returns home to host Austin Peay (February 4) and Murray State (February 6) at McBrayer Arena later this week.
