EKU Softball Hits The Road To North Carolina To Take On Campbell In A FOUR Game Series

RICHMOND, Ky. –
 The Eastern Kentucky University softball team will travel to North Carolina to take on Campbell University in a four-game series starting on Friday.
 
The Colonels will play one game on Friday, two on Saturday and the series finale on Sunday.
 
First pitch against Campbell has been moved up to 1 p.m. on Friday. Game one on Saturday will start at 1 p.m. with first pitch of game two starting around 3 p.m. The series finale on Sunday will start at 1 p.m.

-Campbell comes into the weekend at 3-1 and winners of its last three contests.
 
-The series between the two teams all-time is tied, 1-1, with the last meeting coming back in 2012.
 
-The Camels lost to No. 12 Kentucky, before winning their next three games last weekend.
 
-Campbell has three consecutive shutouts, two against Mount St. Mary's and the other against North Carolina Central.
 
-Kayla Fredendall led the way offensively for the Camels hitting .333 with two home runs.
 
-Georgeanna Barefoot and Megan Richards each tossed shutouts over the weekend for the Camels.
 
What EKU Brings:
-EKU comes into the weekend at 4-2 after sweeping doubleheaders against College of Charleston and Charleston Southern over the weekend.
 
-Senior Mollie Paulick was lights out in the circle over the weekend posting a 2-0 record in relief with 10 strikeouts. Paulick was named OVC Pitcher of the Week after her performance.
 
-Freshman Jasmine Miller was on fire last weekend going 7-for-10 with four doubles, one home run and seven RBIs.
 
-The Colonels currently ranks sixth in the country in doubles per game and 16th overall in doubles.  
 
-Eastern ranks second in the conference and 63rd in the country in home runs per game on the season.
 
-EKUs defense has been stellar in the early season, ranking 32nd in the country and first in the conference in fielding percentage.  
 
-Miller ranks fifth in the country in on base percentage.
