HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Eastern Kentucky University junior Quantasia Perry broke the school record in the indoor 200 meters on Saturday at the Marshall Classic.

Perry – a native of Covington, Georgia – exploded off the blocks and clocked a personal-best time of 24.27, winning the women's 200 meters and edging Felecia Hawkins' 24-year-old school record of 24.28.

That time is the fastest in the OVC so far this season and it currently ranks Perry in the top-60 in the country.

Perry was the OVC runner-up in the outdoor 100 meters in 2019.

She came into Saturday ranked No. 4 on EKU's all-time indoor 200 meters with her previous personal-best of 24.55.

Freshman Kayla Smith, meanwhile, won the women's 60 meters on Saturday, clocking a time of 7.62.

Smith is the current OVC leader in the 60 meters with her time of 7.49, which she ran on January 15 (No. 48 in the country).

Other notable performances on Saturday included seniors Cassi Reed (2:18.14 / No. 2 in the OVC) and Ashley Barr (2:18.18 / No. 3 in the OVC) in the women's 800 meters, and sophomore Katy Chapman (5:14.32 / No. 2 in the OVC) in the women's mile.

The track and field Colonels return to action at the Music City Challenge in Nashville on February 13.
