RICHMOND, Ky. – Another week of the outdoor track and field season has come and gone, and it sees another two members of the Eastern Kentucky University track and field program named in the ASUN Conference's weekly honors, as Matt See and Bright Jepchumba were recognized on Wednesday.
See claims his first men's field performer of the week honor this season after taking first in the men's shot put at the Jim Vargo Invitational last Saturday with a throw of 16.45 meters, the third best in EKU history.
Jepchumba takes the league's freshman of the week on the women's side after running the second-fastest 10,000m time ever by a Colonel at the Raleigh Relays.
Jepchumba's time of 32:40.65 sees her atop the conference's performance list.
Action on the track continues on Friday as
Edna Chelulei competes in the women's 10,000m at the Stanford Invitational.
