Molly Michalak posted 20 kills and 31 digs and the Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team came back from down 2-0, to knock of UT Martin, 3-2, Monday night at McBrayer Arena.

The Colonels won by scores of 26-28, 28-30, 25-22, 25-13 and 15-13.

Freshman setter
Audrey Eurton had nine kills, 63 assists, and 16 digs, posting her second double-double in as many contests.
Lindsey Wilkins posted 17 kills,
Jovana Bulatovic had 11 kills and
Mikayla Logan had 10 against the Skyhawks.

In the fifth set the two teams traded points for most of the set, but the Skyhawks took a 13-11 lead after a Logan error. That's when the fifth set heroics took place. The Colonels scored the last four points of the set capped off by a Logan and Bulatovic block to take the final set 15-13, and the match. Â

The Colonels dominated the fourth set, and after falling behind early 3-1, Eastern took control and took the fourth set 25-13, to tie the match at 2-2. Bulatovic led the way for the Colonels with five kills in the set.

Eastern got on the board first in the third set. The Colonels never trailed in the set. With the scored tied at 2-2, EKU won six of the next eight points to take an 8-4 lead after an Addy Vaughn error for the Skyhawks. The Skyhawks responded going on a 5-1 run to cut the Colonel lead to one, 9-8, after an EKU error. UTM tied the set at 12-12 but could never tie it the rest of the set and the Colonels took the third set 25-22, after a UTM error.

In set number two the teams traded punches for most of the set and the Colonels took a 15-12 lead after back-to-back kills by Wilkins. UTM answered back with four straight points to retake the 16-15 lead over the Colonels. Eastern Kentucky responded though. EKU tied the set at 22-22 after a Michalak kill. Eastern had a 28-27 lead in the set, but the Skyhawks scored the last three points after an EKU attack error to take the second set.

UTM took the biggest lead of the opening set at 19-16 after an EKU error, but again Eastern responded. The Colonels scored four straight points to take a 20-19 lead over the Skyhawks. UTM took a 23-21 lead after a kill by Karen Scanlon, again Eastern responded scoring three straight points to take a 24-23 lead. The Skyhawks took the opening set, 28-26, after a kill by Logan Wallick and an EKU error.

Scanlon had a team-best 16 kills on the contest. Wallick chipped in 15 kills of her own.

The Colonels hit .247 on the contest. Eastern had 120 digs on the contest.
Sydney Schoen had 29 digs on the contest.

Eastern hits the road next weekend to take on last year's tournament champion Southeast Missouri State. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Sunday.
