EKU Softball Takes On Jacksonville State For A Three Game Series Starting On Saturday

RICHMOND, Ky. –
 The Eastern Kentucky University softball team welcomes in rival Jacksonville State to Gertrude Hood Field this weekend for a three-game series starting on Saturday.
 
First pitch is scheduled 1 p.m. on Saturday with game two starting 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. First pitch on Sunday will be at 1 p.m.

Inside the Series                                                                                                                   
-Jacksonville State comes into the contest 4-11 (3-3 OVC) after losing two-of-three against UT Martin last weekend in Jacksonville.  
 
-The Gamecocks lead the all-time series between the two teams, 39-12.
 
-Jacksonville State is led offensively by Karen Mosley and Jada Terry. Mosely has a team-high .324 batting average with one double and four RBIs. Terry is hitting .304 with two doubles, three home run and 11 RBIs.
 
-Nicole Rodriquez leads the way in the circle for the Gamecocks. Rodriquez is 2-1 on the year with a 2.17 ERA and 36 strikeouts over 29 innings pitched.
 
What EKU Brings:
-EKU comes into the weekend at 12-6 (4-2 OVC) after falling in the midweek to No. 9 Kentucky, 6-5, in Lexington.
 
-The Colonels have three players hitting over .400 on the season.
 
-Tori Peterson was stellar over the weekend posting a 1-0 record with a 0.91 ERA. Peterson is now 4-0 on the year with a 2.90 ERA.
 
-Freshman Jaelyn Sanders made a name for herself against the Wildcats going 2-for-3 with two home runs and five RBIs.   
 
-The Colonels currently rank 58th in the nation in doubles per game and 45th overall in doubles. Both of those rank second in the OVC.  
 
-Sammi Miller ranks ninth in the country in triples.
