Eastern Kentucky (14-7, 6-3 OVC) again struck first in the bottom of the first.

Sammi Miller got things started with a double to left field. Carly Robinson followed suit with a double off the center field wall to bring home Miller and give Eastern the early 1-0 lead.

Jacksonville State (5-13, 4-5 OVC) answered back in the top of the second after a solo home run by Karsen Mosely to left field to tie the game at 1-1 after an inning and a half.

That lead did not last very long.
