EKU Softball Welcomes In-State Rival Morehead State To Richmond

RICHMOND, Ky. –
 The Eastern Kentucky University softball team welcomes in-state rival Morehead State to Gertrude Hood Field on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The two teams were supposed to square off in Morehead, but with poor weather possible in the area the two teams will play in Richmond.
 
First pitch is scheduled 3 p.m. with game two starting 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
 
All previously purchased tickets for April 20, including all season tickets, will be valid for tomorrow's game.

Inside the Series                                                                                                                   
-Morehead State comes into the contest 6-12 (0-9 OVC) after getting swept by Tennessee Tech over the weekend.
 
-The Colonels lead the all-time series between the two teams, 52-25.
 
-Morehead State is led offensively by Kirya Kingery who is hitting a team-high .370 with two doubles and one triple on the season. Kingery has a team-high and OVC-best 16 stolen bases on the year.
 
-Lennon Spicer leads the way in the circle for the Eagles. Spicer is 4-7 on the year with a 3.48 ERA.
 
What EKU Brings:
-EKU comes into the contest at 14-7 (6-3 OVC) after taking two-of-three against rival Jacksonville State.
 
-The Colonels are led offensively by Carly Robinson who his hitting a team-best .419, with one double, six home runs and 21 RBIs.
 
-Robinson currently ranks fifth in OVC play with a .478 batting average, one double, four home runs and 11 RBIs.
 
-The Colonels are a rotation by committee this year with Tori Peterson, Mollie Paulick and Samantha Reynoso. Paulick is 3-0 with a 1.52 ERA on the year. Peterson has posted a 6-1 record with a team-high 43 and one-third innings. Reynoso is 4-1 on the year with a team-best 34 strikeouts.   
 
-The Colonels currently rank 38th in the nation in doubles and 45th overall in doubles per game. Both of those rank second in the OVC.  
 
-Sammi Miller ranks 12th in the country in triples.
