RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team hits the road to take on UT Martin in a crucial Ohio Valley Conference series over the weekend.
 
The Colonels will now play two games on Friday and one game on Saturday. First pitch against the Skyhawks on Friday is scheduled for 3 p.m. with game two to follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. The series finale will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

-UT Martin comes into the contest at 16-5 (6-3 OVC) and winners of its last seven games after sweeping Tennessee State last weekend.
 
-The Colonels lead the all-time series between the two teams, 45-34.
 
-Kaci Fuller leads the offensive charge for the Skyhawks with a team-high .440 batting average, seven doubles, three triples, two home runs and 18 RBIs. Kaitlyn Kelley has a team-best 10 home runs and 28 RBIs on the season.
 
-Alexis Groet leads the way in the circle for UTM with a 6-1 record and a team-best 1.56 ERA. Erin Gallagher is 4-2 on the season with a 2.96 ERA.

-EKU comes into the weekend at 16-7 (8-3 OVC) after sweeping a doubleheader against in-state rival Morehead State on Wednesday.

Sammi Miller and 
Carly Robinson pace the Colonel offense. Miller has a team-best .420 batting average, with six doubles, two triples, two home runs and 12 RBIs. Robinson is hitting .404 with two doubles, a team-high six home runs and 23 RBIs.

Tori Peterson improved to 7-1 on the season after tossing a complete game against Morehead State on Wednesday. Peterson is 5-1 in OVC play with a league-best 0.87 ERA.
 
-The Colonels currently rank 33rd in the nation in doubles and 45th overall in doubles per game. Both of those rank second in the OVC.

Sammi Miller ranks 13th in the country in triples.
