RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team hits the road to face Ohio Valley Conference preseason favorite Murray State on Friday. First touch from Cutchin Field is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.

WHAT TO KNOW
 
EKU (0-1-0) staged a furious second-half rally in its season opener versus SIUE on Tuesday, scoring two goals within a minute of each other to tie the game at 2-2; however, the Cougars scored a late game-winner to get the victory, 3-2.
 
Freshman Kylie Fitzgerald scored her first collegiate goal in the 52^nd minute.
 
Senior all-conference defender Katie Shaffer added her second career goal in the 53^rd minute.
 
Sophomore Maddy Lemery recorded the assist on both goals.
 
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
 
Murray State (1-0-0) defeated Morehead State, 3-1, on Tuesday in Morehead.
 
Saraya Young, Rebecca Cubin, and Chloe Barnthouse found the back of the net for the Racers.
 
In their last visit to Cutchin Field, the Colonels defeated Murray State, 1-0, on October 21, 2018.
