EKU Softball Set For Midweek Tilt Against Chattanooga On Wednesday

RICHMOND, Ky. –
 The Eastern Kentucky University softball team hits the road for a midweek contest against Chattanooga on Wednesday.
 
First pitch against the Mocs is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Inside the Series                                                                                                                   
-Chattanooga comes into the contest 4-8 after losing four games over the weekend.
 
-The Mocs lead the all-time series between the two teams, 6-2.
 
-Kailey Snell and Courtney Ball lead the way offensively for Chattanooga on the season. Snell is hitting a team-best .364 with two doubles and nine RBIs. Ball has a .333 batting average, three doubles, one home run and six RBIs on the season.
 
-Hannah Wood leads the way in the circle for the Mocs. Wood is 2-2 with a 1.33 ERA on the year.
 
What EKU Brings:
-EKU comes into the weekend at 10-3 (3-0 OVC) and winners of its last five games after sweeping a weekend series against SIUE.
 
-Carly Robinson leads the offensive charge for the Colonels with a team-high .450 batting average, three home runs and 12 RBIs.
 
-Freshman Jasmine Miller comes in with a .448 batting averaging and Sammi Miller has a .415 batting average.
 
-The Colonels currently rank 31st in the nation in doubles per game and 32nd overall in doubles. That ranks second and first in the OVC.  
 
-The EKU pitching staff was lights out over the weekend posting a 3-0 record, 0.67 ERA, 20 strikeouts and two complete games.
 
-EKUs defense has been stellar in the early season, ranking 53rd in the country and second in the conference in fielding percentage.  
 
-Sammi Miller ranks fifth in the country in triples.
