RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team will play a pivotal road match at UT Martin on Friday night. First touch from Skyhawk Soccer Field is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
 
 
WHAT TO KNOW
 
Following three straight wins, EKU (4-4-0) has climbed firmly into the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament hunt. With two regular season games remaining, the Colonels are tied for fifth in the OVC standings with 12 points. UT Martin (4-3-1) is positioned just ahead in fourth place with 13 points.
 
The top four teams advance to the OVC Tournament.
 
EKU shut out Belmont, 1-0, on Tuesday in Richmond. Senior goalkeeper Billie Clark made five saves, including a highlight-reel stop in the 88^th minute, to earn her second clean sheet in the last three games.
 
Sophomore Michaela Iacono scored the decisive goal on a penalty kick in the 27^th minute. Iacono now leads the OVC with three game-winning goals this season.
 
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
 
UT Martin comes into Friday night's showdown with two straight wins. The Skyhawks blanked Austin Peay, 2-0, on the road on Tuesday.
 
Emely van der Vliet paces the Skyhawks offensively with three goals and one assist this season.
 
This is the 18^th all-time meeting between EKU and UTM. The Skyhawks lead the series, 10-6-1, and have won three straight over the Colonels.
