RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team welcomes in Eastern Illinois to Gertrude Hood Field for the final home series of the year this weekend.

The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday with the series finale on Sunday. First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 1 p.m. with game two to follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Sunday's contest will start at 1 p.m. Three seniors will be honored before first pitch on Sunday.

-Eastern Illinois comes into the weekend at 21-17 (12-12 OVC) after losing two-of-three against Murray State last weekend.

-Eastern Kentucky leads the all-time series between the two teams, 43-29.

-Megan Burton and Haley Mitchell lead the way offensively for the Panthers. Burton is hitting .320 with seven doubles, a team-best 16 home runs and 42 RBIs. Mitchell is hitting .318 with 10 home runs and 28 RBIs on the season.

-Jade Montgomery leads the way in the circle for Panthers. Montgomery is 8-11 on the season with a 3.03 ERA and a team-high 118 innings pitched.

-EKU comes into the weekend at 31-11 (21-5 OVC) and winners of its last six games and in first place of the Ohio Valley Conference standings after knocking off Dayton on Wednesday, 5-1.

Sammi Miller and
Carly Robinson pace the Colonel offense. Miller has a team-best .425 batting average, with 11 doubles, three triples, four home runs and 22 RBIs. Robinson is hitting .317 with five doubles, a team-high seven home runs and 32 RBIs.

-Miller ranks first in the OVC in batting average, hits and runs scored. She ranks second in doubles, fourth in triples and top-10 in stolen bases.

Tori Peterson and
Mollie Paulick lead the way in the circle for the Colonels. Peterson is 15-3 on the season with a 2.07 ERA. Peterson leads the OVC in wins in conference play on the season with 11. Paulick is 10-0 with a team-best 1.41 ERA with 65 strikeouts.

-The Colonels currently rank 38th in the nation in doubles which is second in the OVC.

Zoe Mihalicz was named OVC Player of the Week after going 4-for-6 with three home runs and five RBIs in a doubleheader sweep of Tennessee Tech on Sunday.
