EKU Softball Hits The Road To Take On In-State Rival Western Kentucky In A Midweek Tilt

RICHMOND, Ky. –
 The Eastern Kentucky University softball team continues its road swing to take on in-state rival Western Kentucky in Bowling Green on Wednesday.
 
First pitch against the Hilltoppers is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

Inside the Series                                                                                                                   
-Western Kentucky comes into the contest at 15-4 (0-0 C-USA) after defeating No. 7 Kentucky, 2-1, on March 24. This will be the Hilltoppers first game in over a week.
 
-The Hilltoppers lead the all-time series between the two teams, 13-11.
 
-Paige Carter leads the offensive charge for a high-powered WKU lineup. Carter is hitting a team-best .418 with eight doubles, six home runs and 16 RBIs on the season.
 
-Western Kentucky has a balanced attacked in the circle. Kelsey Aikey has thrown a team-high 53 and two-third innings and posted a 4-4 record on the year.
 
What EKU Brings:
-EKU comes into the contest at 21-9 (13-4 OVC) after sweeping Belmont in a three-game series last weekend in Nashville.
 
-Sammi Miller and Carly Robinson pace the Colonel offense. Miller has a team-best .396 batting average, with eight doubles, three triples, three home runs and 14 RBIs. Robinson is hitting .364 with three doubles, a team-high seven home runs and 27 RBIs.
 
-Tori Peterson leads the way in the circle for the Colonels with a 10-2 record and a 2.26 ERA. Peterson is 8-1 with a 1.03 ERA in OVC play.
 
-The Colonels currently rank 29th in the nation in doubles which is second in the OVC.
 
-Sammi Miller ranks 21st in the country in triples.
