CHICAGO, Ill. – Eastern Kentucky University's volleyball team will travel to Chicago this weekend for the Loyola Tournament.
EKU begins the two-day event on Friday at 1:30 p.m. against host Loyola. The match will air live on ESPN3.
The Colonels will take on Xavier at 6 p.m. on Friday before closing out play on Saturday against Southern Illinois Edwardsville at 1 p.m.
INSIDE THE SERIES

- Eastern Kentucky (1-2) began the season at the Appalachian Invitational last week. The Colonels played two five-set matchings, beating UNC Greensboro 3-2. EKU lost 3-2 to Appalachian State and 3-1 to Radford.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Loyola began its season by winning one of three at Notre Dame's Golden Dome Invitational. The Ramblers opened the season with a 3-1 win over Oakland before falling 3-1 to Western Kentucky and 3-0 to Notre Dame. Taylor Venuto has a team-high 30 kills.
- Xavier went 1-2 at the season-opening Charlotte Invitational. The Musketeers knocked off South Carolina State 3-0 before falling by identical 3-1 scores to host Charlotte and Colorado. Moriah Hopkins leads the squad with 34 kills.
- SIU Edwardsville is also 1-2. The Cougars started the season with a 3-0 loss to Evansville at the Purdue Fort Wayne Invitational. SIUE beat the hosts 3-2 and then lost to Kent State 3-1. Sydney Hummert has a team-high 28 kills this season.
