RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky will look to earn its second straight win as Tarleton comes to town for Homecoming on Saturday afternoon.
The game will air live on ESPN+ with kickoff scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Greg Stotelmyer will handle play-by-play duties with Jim Tirey serving as the analyst and Wes Chandler working as the sideline reporter. The audio broadcast will also be simulcast in the Richmond area on WCYO 100.7 FM, and can be heard worldwide on EKUSports.com.
INSIDE THE SERIES
- Saturday will mark the first-ever meeting between EKU and Tarleton.
- EKU had never faced an opponent from the state of Texas until 2020, when the Colonels faced Houston Baptist and Stephen F. Austin. This season, EKU is slated to play five teams from the Lone Star State: Tarleton, Abilene Christian, Lamar, Stephen F. Austin, and Sam Houston.

- Eastern Kentucky is 62-22-2 all-time on Homecoming. EKU won 24 consecutive Homecoming games from 1974-97.
- The Colonels are coming off a 35-27 victory over No. 19 Austin Peay.

- Eastern Kentucky's defense tallied four sacks against Austin Peay, the most since the Colonels sacked Stephen F. Austin four times on Nov. 7, 2020.
- EKU put the ball in the air just 21 times last weekend, marking the fewest pass attempts in a game since the Colonels attempted 17 passes at West Virginia on Sept. 12, 2020.
- Hewitt rushed for a career-high 103 yards against Austin Peay. Hewitt's previous high came in the season opener when Hewitt recorded 78 rushing yards in a victory at Western Carolina.
- 27,254 fans attended the Colonels first two home games, the most over any two-game home stretch since the first two home games of 2004.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- The Texans enter the matchup off a 40-21 win over New Mexico Highlands.
- Tarleton had won 11 consecutive regular-season road games before falling to Stephen F. Austin in this year's season opener.
- Running back Daniel Wright Jr. rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries against New Mexico Highlands.
- Wide receiver Tariq Bitson recorded 136 yards receiving on four catches last weekend.
- Defensive back Greg Eggleston Jr. was named WAC Defensive Player of the Week after picking off two passes and making four tackles against New Mexico Highlands.
