RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team used two second half goals to cruise past previously unbeaten Ohio University, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon in Richmond.

Audrey Anderson got the scoring started for the Colonels in the 27th minute. EKU played a throw in and senior
Michaela Iacono flicked the ball on to Anderson who made a couple moves and fired a shot outside of the box just out of the reach of the Ohio goalkeeper.

It was the first goal the Bobcats had allowed all season.

Ohio (3-1-0) found the equalizer in the 34th minute. Olivia Sensky took a free kick outside the box and found the bottom right of the goal to tie the match at, 1-1, before halftime.

The two teams went into the half tied.

EKU (3-2) answered back in the second half.

Iacono gave the Colonels the lead for good in the 66th minute taking a pass from freshman
Nerea de Diego and finding the back of the net for her first goal of the season, giving the Colonels a 2-1 lead.

Eastern Kentucky continued to add pressure to the Bobcats in the second half and
Hope Evans connected on her first goal on her collegiate career in the 73rd minute after a flurry of shot attempts inside the box.

Ohio out-shot the Colonels 14-13 on the contest. The Bobcats had seven shots on goal compared to EKU's five.

Freshman goalkeeper
Marah Krick again had a solid game in goal with six saves on the contest.
EKU welcomes in in-state rival University of Kentucky on Thursday afternoon at EKU Soccer Field. The match starts at 4 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
