Colonels Head South for Road Matches in Georgia and Alabama

Last ASUN Road Tilt of the Regular Season

KENNESAW, Ga. – EKU soccer heads South to complete the away portion of its regular season with matches at Kennesaw State on Thursday, Oct. 13 and at Jacksonville State on Sunday, Oct. 16.
 
Thursday's tilt with Kennesaw State (4-8-2, 2-3-1 ASUN) is slated to kick off at 7:00 p.m. ET at in Fifth Third Bank Stadium (8,300), which is also the football stadium for the Owls. The match will be aired through the official Kennesaw State YouTube channel. Sunday's match against Jacksonville State (2-11-1, 0-5-1 ASUN) is at 2:00 p.m. ET can be viewed on ESPN+.
 
Eastern Kentucky (7-4-2, 3-2-2 ASUN) travels to this week's road swing in fourth place in the conference standings with 11 points after defeating Stetson 2-0 last Sunday on Senior Day.
 
Senior Maddy Lemery has been the highlight in the latter half of conference play, the Lake Mary, Fla. product has scored at least one goal in each of EKU's last three matches. Including tying the program record for goals scored in a single match (2) against APSU to bring her season total to seven. 
 
Recently, Lemery tied teammate Audrey Anderson for sixth in program history for career goals scored (10), seventh in points (22), and entered the top-10 in shots (85), and shots on goal (41), and game-winning goals (5).
 
Junior Carly Dean was given the starting nod at keeper on Senior Day, the Sidney, Ohio native earned a career-high seven saves, tying the season-high team value en route to her second career clean sheet.
 
Freshman Maddy Murphy scored her first collegiate goal in Sunday's win over Stetson, striking the back of the net using her right foot after a perfectly placed ball by Tiatianna Jones in the 43rd minute.

- Thursday's match against Kennesaw State is the second meeting between the two teams and the first meeting in ASUN Conference play after EKU joined the league last season.
- KSU claimed the first meeting 3-0 in Kennesaw on September 7, 2012.
 
Scouting the Owls
- KSU's Benji Walton is in his 17th season as a head coach with a career record of 159-130-23, he's been with the Owls since the 2016-17 campaign.
- The Owls enter Thursday's tilt dropping three of its last four matches, only picking up a 1-0 win against Jacksonville on Oct. 10.
- Keeper Allanah Blye ranks sixth in the country and first in the conference in saves per game (7.33) and 36th in total saves (66).
- Freshman Stella Allen leads the Owls with three goals on the season, the only other KSU member with more than one goal is Macie Rainwater (2).
- Defender Hayley Dekker has accumulated 1,048 minutes on the season with the KSU backline, playing 90 minutes in the team's last seven contests.

- Sunday's tilt is the 18th meeting between Jacksonville State and EKU dating back to OVC Conference days, EKU owns the all-time head-to-head record 12-4-1.
- Eastern Kentucky has claimed six of the last seven meetings between the two programs, including five straight wins in Jacksonville, Ala. 
 
Scouting the Gamecocks 
- Jacksonville State HC Neil Macdonald is in his 19th season as a coach, in 10 seasons with JSU he's compiled a record of 55-106-15 (.355). 
- The Gamecocks sit at No. 330 out of 348 teams in the latest NCAA RPI ranking.
- JSU's two wins on the season have come against Troy (3-2) and Alabama State (4-1).
- Kylie Wells and Cynthia Bagozzi each have three goals on the season for the Gamecocks, leading the program.
- Bailey Dean has started 12-of-15 games in net, allowing 20 goals and tracking down 52 saves on the season.
