RICHMOND, Ky. – EKU redshirt-junior quarterback
Parker McKinney has been named ASUN Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
McKinney led the Colonels to their first conference win of the season as EKU defeated North Alabama, 56-53 on Saturday. McKinney finished 22-for-33 with 310 passing yards while matching an EKU single-game record with five passing touchdowns. He also led the Colonels' ground attack with 65 yards and a touchdown on six carries.
The Coalfield, Tenn., native also became the first EKU quarter ever to throw for 2,000 yards in back-to-back seasons. McKinney's five-touchdown performance gives him 19 passing touchdowns on the year, a new career high.
McKinney ranks third nationally in points responsible for and total offense per game. He leads the conference in passing yards, yards per game, yards per completion, touchdowns, completion percentage, and completions per game.
EKU returns to action at 2:00 PM on Saturday when it visits Southeast Missouri. The contest will be the 31st all-time between the Colonels and Redhawks and the first since 2019.
