@EKUFootball Game Day: Colonels Host Kennesaw State On Senior Day

RICHMOND, Ky. – EKU will face Kennesaw State on Saturday afternoon for Senior Day at CG Bank Field at Roy Kidd Stadium.
 
The game will air live on ESPN+ with kickoff scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Greg Stotelmyer will handle play-by-play duties with Jim Tirey serving as the analyst and Wes Chandler working as the sideline reporter. The audio broadcast will also be simulcast in the Richmond area on WCYO 100.7 FM, and can be heard worldwide on EKUSports.com.

INSIDE THE SERIES
-  Saturday will mark the first-ever meeting between EKU and Kennesaw State.
 
-  The Colonels are facing an opponent from the state of Georgia for the first time since playing Georgia Southern in the 1993 Division I-AA playoffs. 
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern Kentucky enters Saturday with a 6-4 record and is looking to claim a share of the ASUN conference championship with a win and a Central Arkansas loss. 
 
-  Quarterback Parker McKinney set EKU's single-season records for completions and passing yards in last Saturday's game at Jacksonville State. 
 
-  Linebacker Matthew Jackson tallied a season-high 14 tackles against the Gamecocks. 
 
-  Four different Colonels have scored rushing touchdowns this season, led by McKinney's eight.  

-  EKU has won each of its last five Senior Day contests. 
 
TK McLendon Jr. leads the EKU defense with six sacks on the season.
 
-  EKU's offense has converted 51 percent of its third-down opportunities through 10 games.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Kennesaw State owns a 5-5 record and is coming off a 31-14 loss at Austin Peay.
 
-  Defensive lineman Desmond Scott blocked a field goal against the Governors, the first of the season for the Owls. 
 
-  Quarterback Xavier Shepherd has totaled 35 rushing touchdowns in his collegiate career. 
 
-  Defensive backs Chance Gamble and Deontre Morris each recorded eight tackles against Austin Peay.  
 
-  Kennesaw State's defense has forced a turnover in 17 consecutive games.
