EKU Women's Basketball Looks To Bounce Back On Saturday Against Lipscomb

RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky University's women's basketball team looks to bounce back on the road in Nashville when the Colonels take on Lipscomb on Saturday.
 
Our team is taking part in the Play4Kay Free Throw Challenge for the entire month of February. "The vision of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund is to be the premier non-profit organization dedicated to supporting innovative ways of fighting ALL cancers affecting women and providing support through giving strength, courage, and hope. 
Battling stage IV cancer, Hall of Fame coach, Kay Yow, gave her final and lasting gift — the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. In the 13 years since its inception, the Fund has served as a catalyst, uniting communities in the fight against cancer." 
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET.

INSIDE THE SERIES
- This is the fifth all-time meeting between the two teams.
 
- The Colonels lead the all-time series, 4-0.
 
- EKU won the first meeting this year, 77-41, in Richmond.
 
THE COLONELS
-  The Colonels (11-13, 4-7 ASUN) fell on the road at Jacksonville, 77-60, on Wednesday afternoon in Jacksonville.
 
-  Bria Bass led the way for the Colonels with 11 points and five rebounds against the Dolphins.
 
Kalissa Lacy was a spark off the bench for the Colonels with nine points. Lacy hit three, three-pointers against Jacksonville.
 
-  Recanati ranks second in the ASUN in steals and sixth in the league in steals per game.  
 
-  The Colonels rank fifth in the country in made free throws.
 
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
-  Lipscomb comes into the weekend at 8-15, 3-7 in the ASUN, and losers of its last five games after falling to Liberty, 64-51, on Wednesday in Liberty.
 
-  The Bisons are led offensively by Jalyn Holcomb who is averaging a team-best 9.3 points per game on the year.
 
-  Lipscomb has eight players averaging six points or more per game.
 
-  The Bisons rank 66th in the country in three-point field goals per game.  
 
UP NEXT
Eastern Kentucky returns home on Thursday nights to take on North Alabama. Tip-off against the Lions is scheduled for 5 p.m.
