EKU Women's Basketball Looks To Bounce Back On The Road At Central Arkansas On Saturday

RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky University's women's basketball team looks to bounce back on the road at the University of Central Arkansas on Saturday night.
 
Our team is taking part in the Play4Kay Free Throw Challenge for the entire month of February. "The vision of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund is to be the premier non-profit organization dedicated to supporting innovative ways of fighting ALL cancers affecting women and providing support through giving strength, courage, and hope. 
Battling stage IV cancer, Hall of Fame coach, Kay Yow, gave her final and lasting gift — the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. In the 13 years since its inception, the Fund has served as a catalyst, uniting communities in the fight against cancer." 
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.

THE COLONELS
-  The Colonels (12-14, 5-8 ASUN) fell at home to North Alabama, 74-65, on Thursday night at McBrayer Arena.
 
-  Ariel Kirkwood and I'Liyah Green led the way for the Colonels against the Lions. Kirkwood posted a team-high 16 points to go with six rebounds. Green posted a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
 
-  The Colonels out-rebounded the Lions, 45-31 on the game.
 
-  Alice Recanati ranks second in the ASUN in steals and fifth in the league in steals per game.  
 
-  The Colonels rank eighth in the country in made free throws.
 
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
-  Central Arkansas comes into the weekend at 9-15, 4-9 in the ASUN, after knocking off Bellarmine, 65-58, on Thursday night in Conway.
 
-  The Sugar Bears are led offensively by Lucy Ibeh and Hannah Langhi. Ibeh is averaging a double-double with 13.8 points and 10.5 rebounds per game on the season. Langhi is averaging 10.1 points per game for the Sugar Bears.
 
-  Central Arkansas ranks 72nd in the country in rebound margin.
 
-  Ibeh ranks 27th in the country in rebounds per game and 29th in the country in overall rebounds.
