RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky University's women's basketball team hits the road to take on first-place Jacksonville State University on Thursday night in Jacksonville.
 
Our team is taking part in the Play4Kay Free Throw Challenge for the entire month of February. "The vision of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund is to be the premier non-profit organization dedicated to supporting innovative ways of fighting ALL cancers affecting women and providing support through giving strength, courage, and hope. 
Battling stage IV cancer, Hall of Fame coach, Kay Yow, gave her final and lasting gift — the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. In the 13 years since its inception, the Fund has served as a catalyst, uniting communities in the fight against cancer." 
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

THE COLONELS
-  The Colonels (13-14, 6-8 ASUN) knocked off Central Arkansas, 65-59, in overtime on Saturday night in Conway. The win cliched a spot in the top three of the west division and a home game to open the conference tournament next week.
 
-  Emma Hacker led the way for the Colonels with a game-high 21 points, three rebounds, and three steals off the bench. Seventeen of her 21 points came in the second half/overtime.
 
-  The Colonels forced Central Arkansas into 25 turnovers.  
 
-  Alice Recanati ranks second in the ASUN in steals and fifth in the league in steals per game.  
 
-  The Colonels rank seventh in the country in made free throws.
 
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
-  Jacksonville State comes into the week at 20-6, 11-3 in the ASUN, and secured the top spot in the west after knocking off Bellarmine, 77-64, on Sunday.
 
-  The Gamecocks are led offensively by Imari Martin. Martin is averaging a team-best 11.4 points per game on the season for JSU.
 
-  Jacksonville State ranks 12th in the country in turnover margin.
 
-  The Gamecocks allow 58.5 points per game on the year.

Eastern Kentucky wraps up the regular season on Saturday at home for Senior Day against in-state foe Bellarmine. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
