LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team fell to Ohio University, 7-2, on Thursday night at John Cropp Stadium.  Â

Ohio got on the board in the bottom of the first with a two-run home run by Caroline Spacek. The Bobcats pushed an unearned run across on an RBI ground out to take a 3-0 lead after one inning.

Eastern Kentucky got one back in the top of the fourth inning.
Carly Robinson,
Ariyana Miranda, and
Maggie Pertee got the inning started with three straight hits.
Gracie Frazier brought home the first run of the game for the Colonels with an RBI ground out to the shortstop.

EKU chipped into the lead again in the top of the fifth after a lead off single by Amanda Sjöberg.
Sammi Miller reached on an error to put runners on first and second with no one out. Back-to-back fly balls from
Samantha Reynoso and Robinson scored Sjoberg to cut into the Ohio lead, 3-2.

The Bobcats pushed three more across in the fifth and one in the sixth.
Â
Sjoberg and Pertee each went 2-for-3 on the contest. Robinson, Miranda, Miller, and Frazier each had a hit on the night.

EKU continues the Bluegrass Classic tomorrow afternoon at John Cropp Stadium. First-pitch against Buffalo is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
