EKU Softball Travels To In-State Rival Morehead State For A Midweek Tilt

RICHMOND, Ky. –
 The Eastern Kentucky University softball team travels to take on in-state rival Morehead State University for a midweek tilt on Wednesday.
 
First pitch against the Eagles is scheduled for 3 p.m.
 
Inside the Series                                                                                                                   
- Morehead State comes into the contest at 0-15 on the season.
 
-The Colonels lead the all-time series between the two teams, 54-25.    
 
-Morehead State is led offensively by Peyton Slater who has a team-best .310 batting average on the season. Slate has two doubles, one home run, and six RBIs on the year.  
 
-Lennon Spicer leads the way in the circle for the Eagles. Spice is 0-8 on the year with a 6.20 ERA.
 
What EKU Brings:
-EKU comes into the weekend at 4-18 after going 1-3 last weekend at the Bluegrass Classic hosted by the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville.
 
-Sammi Miller leads the way offensively for the Colonels with a team-best .367 batting average on the year. Miller has two doubles, one triple, one home run, nine RBIs, and a team-best seven stolen bases on the year.  
 
-Freshman Lauren Narvaez found her way in the circle last week posting a 1-0 record, her first career win, with a 1.37 ERA. Narvaez tossed a complete game in her win over Valparaiso.  
 
-Freshman Maggie Pertee was on a tear over the weekend going 6-for-12 at the plate posting a .500 batting average, with two doubles, two RBIs, and one stolen base.
 
 The Colonels open the home portions of their schedule this weekend when they open ASUN play against Liberty. First-pitch against the Flames is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday.
